Approximately one and a half hours away from Cape Town is the
seaside town of Hermanus where you can experience the enormity and
exuberance of the Cape’s largest mammal. These whales will capture
your hearts and excite your imagination. Hermanus is hailed as the
best land based whale watching center in the world. The Southern
Right Whale pays homage to these warm shallow waters in order to
calf their young and to mate. Best time for viewing is between
August and November.
